Resolving family law parenting and child custody matters can be one of the more challenging situations faced by people following relationship breakdown.

We have extensive experience advising and representing parents and other interested parties (such as grandparents and other relatives) in relation parenting and child custody matters of every kind; from relatively straight forward settlements about the living arrangements of children to contested court disputes involving complex issues such as interstate and international relocation, family violence and allegations of abuse.

Examples of recent cases that we have worked on include:

• Successfully acting for the applicant father at trial in which the mother made false allegations of significant family violence against him and unsuccessfully sought orders for the parties’ young child to relocate interstate.
• Successfully acting for the applicant mother in relation to her application to set aside/overturn prior final orders made by the Family Court in relation to the parties’ young child and for the child to spend supervised time with the father on the basis of his mental health issues.
• Acting for a US citizen and resident of the US in relation to the parenting arrangements for his son who resides with the mother in Australia.
• Successfully acting for a father in relation to his application for the parties’ two children to relocate from Newcastle to Sydney and for primary care of the children in Sydney on the basis of the mother’s alcohol addiction issues.
